1) What first inspired you to start acting?
I’ve always loved acting. From putting on shows with my cousins in our living room to now performing with the Ember Players! There’s something so freeing about exploring different ways of expressing yourself through different characters.
2) How long have you been involved in theatre, and what past roles or productions are memorable for you?
I always enjoyed taking part in school productions, even though I was quite shy. I stopped acting after starting secondary school, but returned to it in my third year of university during my study abroad. That production remains my most memorable experience where I played Joyce in Top Girls by Caryl Churchill.
3) What drew you to audition for Gaslight, and what do you enjoy most about your character?
I love how literature can transcend time, and Gaslight is no exception. I hadn’t heard of the play before learning that the Ember Players were holding auditions, but once I read it, I knew I wanted to be involved! Nancy is cheeky, ambitious, and confident, and I really enjoy bringing those qualities to life.
4) What have you enjoyed most about being part of the Ember Players Theatre Company?
I’ve absolutely loved being an Ember Player! The crew and cast are so warm, welcoming, and talented, and I feel incredibly lucky to be a part of this production.
